QUICK SWIM TIPS - SIGHTING II

SIGHT & BREATHE COMBO

· Swimming,Triathlon,Technique,Sighting,Open Water

Last week we discussed Alligator Eyes Sighting (without a breath). This week, we are discussing combining a Look with a Breath.

Note: The Sight comes at the Beginning of the Breathing Stroke Cycle. If you are going to breathe to the right, you will want to sight as the left arm extends forward and then turn the head and inhale when the head is safely to the side. You might want to say SIGHT - TURN - BREATHE. If you prefer breathing to the left, sight when the right arm extends.
COMMON MISTAKES:
- Sighting after the breath - this timing will not work for a smooth stroke.
- Breathing while sighting - this will cause you to swallow water when conditions are rough.
